ABOUT BROWN CREEK FARM
Brown Creek Farm is family owned and operated. Situated between two valleys in the beautiful Kootenay-Boundary area, we grow seasonal vegetables and raise free range, organically fed chickens, ducks, and quail.
We understand the importance of good quality food, which is why the welfare of our livestock is of the upmost importance to us. Our flock live on their own 5 acre section of our farm, where they are free to roam as they please every day. They are fed an all organic feed and eat whatever juicy bugs they can get their beaks into!
Although we are in the process of obtaining our organic certification through the NOOA, we currently grow and raise our products according to their standards and requirements, as we want to keep our community happy and healthy by providing them with the best products that we possibly can.

Our mission is to be a local source of ethically produced, high quality, and easily accessible food for our community while using practices that will enhance and sustain the area in which we grow.
HOW IT STARTED
Pictured here are our parents, Mike and Julia Lee. They have spent their married years searching for the perfect place to call home. Both originally from the UK, they moved their young family to the south of Spain in the year 2000. During the 8 years they spent there, they had an olive farm where they raised pigs, sheep, and us! While they enjoyed their time in Spain, they both knew that Canada was the place they wanted to call home. Finally, the call came through that we had been accepted into Canada, so we jetted off a month later. Having lived in Kelowna for the better part of 10 years, they decided they wanted to find a quieter location, where they could grow their own food, live the rural life they had always dreamed of, and provide their girls with the opportunity to live on the Farm. In 2018 they purchased 20 acres north of Grand Forks, and have finally found a place they can call home.

Both passionate about healthy living and good food, we feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be able to provide our community with delicious and nutritious ingredients. We believe that the key to a healthy and happy lifestyle starts with what's on your plate.
Food is an essential part of life. It connects communities, has a culture and a history, and can enhance our experiences and memories.
